The Sounding 04:45
And when I wake, I will still be dreaming. This fever may break, And you'll still be gone. And when I wake, My heart will be beating. My quickening pulse, Still plays the same song. Wading into sleepless nights, The air, it breathes like steam tonight. I hear the distant pounding of the anvil's ring. Bolting upright in my bed, These knotted sheets are damp with sweat. I hear the hollow sounding of the foundry's song. And when I wake, I will still be dreaming. This fever may break, And you'll still be gone. And when I wake, I will still be breathing. The thickening air, will thin with the dawn. I can feel the forge aglow, I'll weather out the hammer's blow. It's time to take the sleep to task and carry on. And if I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. And If I die, we'll carry on. And we'll carry on

Sirens 04:52
I sat up and watched the sky, Felt cold water as it flowed by, And I knew nothing in the world Could ever harm me. I've seen hurt and I've heard their lies, I've watched murder with open eyes, And I've stumbled through the dark You'll never harm me. On a fountain in the park There is engraved a simple rhyme, It has come down through the ages, Through the ages for all time. If you lean in close to read it Falling water all around, You will hear a simple secret And you'll wonder at the sound. All these places Like still waters of hatred Like the fathers of great men Fade into the moonlight I've been witness but never cried, As the sticks and the stones roll by, Though they rumble through the dark They'll never harm me. But you wonder how this came to be You question and you fight. And you're searching for the secret But the secrets not in sight So you walk up to the devil With this fire in your hand All your wisdom, all your knowledge Drys to dust and turns to sand All these places Like still waters of hatred Like the fathers of great men Fade into the moonlight All these faces All great fires surround me All the sirens around me Look like you look tonight

Geneva 03:42
I have stood on her cold earth shores at dawn. I nearly drowned when the current pulled me under. In their eyes I see the water Geneva calls In their eyes I see the water In their eyes I've lain awake in a stranger's bed at night. I nearly drowned when the current pulled me under. In their words I hear the water Geneva calls In their words I hear the water In their words I sink in you I sink in you again I go when she calls I hold my breath in her arms so cold so cold Oh Geneva My Geneva I have stood on her cold earth shores at dawn. I nearly drowned when the current pulled me under. In their eyes I see the water Geneva calls In their eyes I see the water In their eyes Oh Geneva My Geneva I go when she calls I sink in you again Geneva

The Fall 03:35
I'll go when you call me. We both know that this means nothing. I feel nostalgia touching you. I roll falling forward, You call and I backslide to you, I feel nostalgia touching you. Tommorrow I will be waking To the urge to retreat I concede I watch my hands begin shaking I know I'll go when you call I wish I could resist the fall This night we bring life to All those memories stained on sheets, I turn down dim lights Wishing that I would stay Tommorrow I will be waking I feel the pleasure of pleasing recede I watch my hands begin shaking I know I'll go when you call I wish I could resist the fall I'll go when you call me. We know that we both belong here. I trust there's nothing wrong, Your conscience clear Your conscience clear

I fear no fate, I want no world Sky of sky Higher than soul can hope or mind can hide. This is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart. We'll speak in rhymes, we'll whisper these Songs of love. Hold these words close to your heart as I hold them in mine. This is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart. You are my fate, you are my world. Know you are whatever whatever a moon has meant or a sun will sing. These are the steps that we take over broken ground. all pleasures known to us all reasons thrown to us all knowing grown from life in this broken ground

Walk with me tonight, There's a need to believe all we've seen. Walk with me tonight. Slightly to the right, A stroll through the woods will do you good. Walk into the night. And I don't have the answers or directions. Walk into the night. And I'd like to dance upon these questions. Walk into the night. Walking under light after light in the night in the streets in the suburbs, Sounds reach my ears as the yawning lawns settle for sleep. In the glow of a lamp post alive with the dance of the glass tapping beetles and moths, I see the number. And as I uncurl the page that I tore from the telephone book, I'm growing number. Not a moment for a second look, I'm growing number. And I don't have the answers or directions. Walk into the night. And I'd like to dance upon these questions. Walk into the night. Walk with me tonight, There's a need to believe all we've seen. Walk with me tonight. Slightly to the right, A stroll through the woods will do you good. Walk into the night. And I don't have the answers or directions. Walk into the night. And I'd like to dance upon these questions. Walk into the night.

Needles pierce my shaking legs, The steel is in my mouth and yours. The Latin god has come again, And I'm the only one he's told. Midnight rides when we are one, We bask in glory rarely known. Sweat and steel will fly and flash, And I'll die on your heaving back. Passion is what passion does Passion has no goal in sight Real Passion keeps itself alive Passion doesn't need to fight I keep your blinders by my eyes, Remove your feet from sacred shoes. Take these chains and lay them down, In nakedness you are my god. I do my job and clean your room, Your picture hangs above my bed. Noone knows, they'll never know, They'd lie about it anyway. Passion is what passion does Passion has no goal in sight Real Passion keeps itself alive Passion doesn't need to fight I keep your blinders by my eyes, But practical has come about. I'm torn apart by future lives, And Latin gods and midnight rides. You see me sin and in your house, I stop for you but it's too late. I will not tell my passion lies, I gouge your eyes and die inside. Passion isn't paved with bricks , Or wearing three piece suits and ties. It pumps inside our hearts and souls, A passion not known. Passion is what passion does Passion has no goal in sight Real Passion keeps itself alive Passion doesn't need to fight

Through broken halls, cracks in the tile, well with the words that rang through these rooms. This falling house with boards on the shutters, was built for the bride as a gift from the groom. In the Howling-wise How the sighs resound Through this heartless ground Though this broken ground This aging man still walks in the garden, his head in his hands that memory's marked. The life in this ground is gone but the man is still sowing these seeds from dawn until dark. In the Howling-wise How the sighs resound Through this heartless ground Though this broken ground Through broken ground the house has been falling He reaps his rage from a coppice of cares. He harvests this home that harbors his trial, Threshing the thorns that his bitterness bears. In the Howling-wise How the sighs resound Through this heartless ground Though this broken ground

So many things I never said, I had so many things to say. It was always so easy just to pretend, There'd always be other days. I wanted to show you all the little things That are so easy to pass by. I wanted to tell you all of my secrets, I never had the time. And what I knew, I knew for you. And what I'd do, I'd do for you. I would not mind. I wanted to take you far into places, Noone had been before. I wanted to try to make you understand, I never asked for more. And what I knew, I knew for you. And what I'd do, I'd do for you. I would not mind. I wanted to show you all the little things That are so easy to pass by. Then you were gone, And winter came. And what I knew, I knew for you. And what I'd do, I'd do for you. I would not mind.
